Carmen Mohapi

Managing Director

Carmen joined AWARE.org in February 2022 after 15 years in the alcohol industry where she acquired an in-depth understanding of the industry and consumer behaviour. Her strong strategic skills have enabled her to lead AWARE.org’s journey towards a behaviour change-centred approach to building a more positive drinking culture in South Africa.

Deveshani Pillay

Programme Manager

Deveshani has extensive experience in the social development and health sectors where she has managed a variety of projects. She is currently completing a master’s degree in psychology.

Buhle Mazibuko

Assistant Programme Manager

Buhle has worked for a range of non-profit organisations over the course of 11 years and gained varied experience in the field of social development. She currently manages AWARE.org programmes in the areas of road safety and prevention of binge drinking. Buhle is a firm believer in uplifting communities through service provision and the power of community stakeholders to bring about change.
